The event, organised by Hausammann Gallery (Cortina – Miami), Venezia Heritage Tower, Transport Service Pesce M. & C. srl and VENPA, will land for the first time in Italy from 6 to 11 May 2019 in Marghera Via dell’Azoto, 4.
The Redevelopment Project
The project intends to support the definitive redevelopment of an industrial area in Marghera on the basis of successful experiences and what has already been realised in18 cities, such as San Francisco, Long Beach and Washington DC, so far covered by the POW! WOW!.
A concrete landscape consisting of an entire district of formerly occupied factories and industries will thus be transformed into an open-air museum thanks to the murals of 22 artists from all over the world.
International artists will include Kamea, Gress, Noel, Spenser (USA); Reka (AUS); Koralie, Supakitch, Fafi (FRA); Cara (BE); Anne (DE). Equally relevant are the names of national artists: Orion, Capo, Boogie, Cento, Peeta, Joys, Made514, Yama, Dado, Nekos, T okidoki.
Notorious and Federico Hausammann
The project is curated and directed by Federico Hausammann, director of Hausammann Gallery, with whom Notorious Agency has already collaborated in the past.
The Gallery, founded in 1961 in Cortina D’Ampezzo by the art collector Renato Hausammann, has become a national point of reference for modern and contemporary art. Its collection, which has been handed down through three generations, has evolved and enriched by keeping up with the times thanks to the owners’ intuition.
Under Federico’s direction, the gallery has incorporated all new forms of contemporary art production, such as Graffiti e Street Art, even opening a branch in Miami that has become a hub for exhibitions and events with some of the world’s most famous graffiti writers. The POP! WOW! Festival in Venice is only the latest initiative curated by Hausammann Gallery.
It is therefore a great source of pride for us to support a major event such as the POW!WOW! and to continue to cultivate this stimulating relationship, which for years has provided us with the opportunity to entertain international relations, and to develop initiatives that are very much in tune with a fundamental component of our background.
